hi there,
thanks for all the comments, the snow is made from plaster poured on to get the deep thicker area and painted white and then for the rest I put on a good layer baking powder.
The figures white items of clothing are not as brilliant white as they seem , must have been the flash on the camera. Yes I agree in most winter dios the figures are covered in a good portion of mud but how many times do you go for a walk in the frozen snow and come back caked in mud? So I decided to leave them a bit cleaner (this is also echoed on the vehicle). The bottom of their coats does have a darker portion around the bottom to show wetness and dirt. The boots as you know walking in snow actually will take mud of off them and since the ground is frozen there would be little mud and since they were riding on the tank and have just got off to clear the area ,no dirt.
Really I just wanted a dio to use the two vehicles, the rusty smaller abandon one againdt this german monster to show the progression in size. And the german on was to play with different ways of aplling whitewash, hence the broom and bucket with whitewash on. And also the spent cases next to the MG to see how they looked, does anyone know if they ejected sideways or out the bottom? The white thing on top of the vehicle is a white over jacket but the lines and creases didnt show well think I might try that again and maybe emphasize a little dirt on the figures also
Cheers Robbo
