I built one of those a couple of months ago. It was an easy kit to build and I thought the detail was pretty good. It came with a fair amount of accessories. I thought it built well just OTB. Good luck and enjoy.

Tigeriv -

Great selection. I've been looking at that M18 as a future subject also, so will be anxious to follow your progress. Why not do a double and join this build in the "Tank Terror" Campaign? It doesn't close out til mid-February. Keep us posted,

I bought the AFV Club version yonks ago, started it, and got to the tracks and put it aside... The AFV Club tracks are a waste of space. Which AM track set would be the best for this kit? It's an odd kit, It's got the 'working recoil action' barrel, nice, but what's the point and then they give you a set of tracks which quite frankly are a slap in the face. If this would have been my first AFV kit it would have probably put me of the brand. Sorry, I'm getting carried away again. The interior detail is nice though, one reason I like the TD's, lots of detailing scope..

Cheers
Henk

I am just about finished with both the Academy M18 and the AFV M18. They each have adavantages but I like the Academy better. It has better interior detail and the parts fit together easier although I do like the metal barrel of the AFV. I am planning to enter one into the Tank Terror campaign and one into the Ardennes campaign . The vinyl tracks suck on either model.

if you're talking about track sag, it's not so obvious on us afvs. i used the vinyl tracks on acdemy's stuart and hellcat and they look fine to me,
however, on german tanks it's better to use indy links as the track sag on them is more apparent...

just my opinion...

Hi Karl. I finished the Academy model earlier this year and was quite pleased with it. Pleanty of stowage and items included to make it look busy. I also used the vinyl tracks. I built it OOB and was pleased with the end result ... but there are lots of options for improvements. Good luck.
