Hi
Do am I wrong or the M151A1 listed as Academy´s release is the same used in Vietnam? If so why is it listed as an IDF M151 Schmiras?
I think the IDF only used the M151A2, any comments?
Cheers!

Good question Paulo. I thought Academy's release was of a Vietnam-era M151A1 too. I also thought the IDF vehicle was a A2 as well - like the one photographed in VP's Warmachines #14 on M151 MUTT's...

Academy's MUTT is a sprue-by-sprue copy of the Tamiya kit. Even the decal sheet is a direct copy. Both are M151A2s not Vietnam era A1s. Verlinden's conversion is to make it the Academy or Tamiya A2 into an A1.

Tagging onto Sabot's thread - AP Bayardi and Legend Productions makes conversions for the Tamiya (Academy) MUTT's to backdate them to A1's too. In the case of the brand-new Legend Productions release, this is a full-resin kit with photoetch included. Review to come soon. I've used the AP Bayardi set for years - handy for Vietnam armored convoy escort jeeps.
However, both backdates are superficial, in that they give you the external details to mimic a M151A1, but none backdate the suspension, nor offer the early Magnesium four-slotted wheel hubs.

AP Bayardi is still around. My store use to carry his stuff, but for some reason we stoped. Does he have a web page or can you give me more info on them?

Epi - I don't think Armand has a website. I only have his catalog. He was known for making the AMPS National Convention every year - I think he still does. I like his stuff too - his Jerry Cans are awesome - I haven't used anyone elses. I even use his to make my own - with the Water Cap - because I like 'em so much. I wish he'd do Jerry Can Holders. The On The Mark Models photoetch ones are so hard to find now it's a shame.

YUP, His trees and walls are great. We still have a couple left in the store. Do have and address or phone number on the catalog you can e-mail me.
Now you got me thinking about the jerry can holders. I know I have 2 sets of the On The Mark ones, but I think I have a set from someone else. Ill check tonight and let you know.
