Were dark yellow vehicles covered with white in the Russian theater. ? It seems that alot of pictures show gray underneath.

As far as know, all colors of vehicles could recieve Winter camo.
The dark yellow vehicles were fairly dark, so crews did take steps to camo them for the snow. They would use a lime whitewash or even white sheets if nothing else was available.
You should be able to find lots of reference photos that show this.
