On Revell's 1/35 LVT(A) 1 the colour indicated for Saipan during the Pacific war is marine grey. Which would be the ideal colour for this, i have created the grey on the box art, but it would be difficult to maintain the same colour again and again, so any pointers would help.

Kernowmerlin, If you're using enamels, I would give Model Master's "Navy Blue Gray" # 2055.
If acrylics try Model Master's "Intermediate Blue" # 4744
Let us know what you chose even if not from above. I would like to ask to see it when painted as I have yet to see an LVT painted outside the usual OD.

I found one!!! I think it looks dynomite! :-) It's the Italeri model but, who cares?!
For this model, the modeler used Tamiya Xf-18 Medium Blue as the overall color and a mix of Tamiya Xf-18 Medium Blue and Tamiya Xf-57 Buff for the dry-brushing.
Check it out: Lvt-(a)1 Alligator

Just the job, thank you for the find. What is the MERDC US Army paint scheme, and can it be adapted for the LVTP-7 used in Grenada 1983. Field Drab and Forest Green maybe the primary colours, with sand and black as the lesser colours, could this be correct.
