Hi,
on the pic below (if the copy-paste works !) you can see a kind of cylindrical extension to the left smoke discharger wiring protection. It runs along the CITV hole cover.


My bet is this is the plug for the USMC MCD. Am I right or wrong and if this is the case how is the MCD properly plugged into this ?

Yes, this is a connector for MCD. All M1A1HC tanks are wired for MCD use, but only UCMC actually use them on their M1s. Unfortunately I don't know how exactly cables are attached to it.

The first two are Jan Willem's from tanxheaven, the last, hopefully with his permission, is Toad's. I know Andy Elesky has several pics of the MCD but will leave him the opportunity to post them since I can't find them anywhere on the net.
