Gegroet Vrienden,

I made some in progress pics. I know I'm a very dowdy builder. I always get glue spots and so on

I need to do many things though. I am going to build a small interior. Only the part what is visible through the hatches.

Enjoy the pics.

Jurjen,

What a great job you have done here! It looks like you've done a wonderful job detailing your model. I still have no idea how you paint a completed model. I have to paint pieces as I go. How on earth do you paint something like a tool attached to the deck without getting paint on the deck? Unbelievable. Also, I love your engine. How will you keep it from getting paint on it when spraying the whole thing? Since your post is in RRB, I'll try to offer one suggestion too... You might want to try to get your cable to lay down a little bit more on the model. Great Job!

Thanks for your kind words

How I paint a model? Hmmmm good question. It is always a new experiment. I often work in sub-assemblies. In the above pictures the engine, lower hull, upperhull and the turret I haven't glued. Even when I'm starting to paint this model I will have the upper hull and lower hull not glued together.(terrible engilsh :-))

I always paint the tools separate from the model. The risk of spilling paint on my model is to large. But that is a personal choise

Those look like metal tracks. I assume in the pics that temporarily the tracks have not been pushed into sag position because they are way up off the wheels.

Hi Coca,

Probably the same scheme as my T-55 (more or less)

Hi Alan,

The T-72 tracks are pretty tight. Most of them have no sag at all.

Thanks,

Hi Jurjen,
congratulations for your work. I have a question about your removing of the rear turret bin. What will you replace it with, or do you intend not to install any bin at all ?

Don't mind for glue spots, glue is just part of this hobby and your painting will surely hide the ones which will remain at the completion of your model.

cheers

DOH! I just noticed in picture 4 that the tracks are not floating but there is a return roller. I don't know why I thought the tracks wer supposed to lay across the top of the road wheels

Hi rattler. I used the Verlinden T-72 update set. I have to say the engine bay was a real p%%n in the ^&% But I'm happy you like it

Not really. I'm very pleased with this kit. The overall detail is very good and if you want to build it OOTB, go for it I would say.

Eey Bison, I left them off because I want to build a small interior( ) And I know myself, if I already add them they will probably brake off.

These are the turret bins.

Thanks

Hi Jurjen,
nice bins indeed, it should be a shame to break them before finishing !
I guess they come with Verlinden update set.

cheers
