Hello,

Im looking for ideas on how to build a small command/ out post used on the eastern front. I want it to look hastely thrown together, but also useful and somewhat safe. Should I try to scratchbuild out of wooden dowls? or is there some other tecnique the Germans used? I cannot find any reference pictures to go by. HELP!!

Hi Ziggy,
I think you could build it easily using dowls by just putting them on top of one another (the pro builders here should have a better idea of how to acheive this).
Are you going for an outpost above ground or below ground?

hello,

is it in the city ruins or at the out site of it you will
place it. They every thing the could, there was no standart for. In the city center they use briks, sand , wood, stairs.. every thing to get protected .

Wooden dowls work fine. Just make sure they are the right sizeto scale, and to notch them, and use an exacto to cut lines for bark. Or, if you want a more thrown together look, you can use real sticks. Go into the woods and find sticks, twigs, ect that are about the right scale and size, and somewhat straight. Just needing to consider some things.. How big will it be? What atmosphere will it be located in? Will it have a roof? Ect.
You are saying command post, so i imagine that it is going to have a roof and be not too small. So, perhaps you could make this outspost out of more than one type of object to give a thrown together look. For example, you have logs, but also planks, misc. lumber, doors, crates, sandbags, ect.
One thing that might work is if you positioned it in a shell crater.
I am looking foward to see the completed project
