Has anyone made a diorama with dragon's teeth. My nephews have all sorts of blocks and things a person could use to cast a pyramid shaped tank obstcal. Was the shape variable?? Did they have re-enforing re-bar etc?? I have noticed alot of people display tanks on very simple bases featuring grass or road, my thought is to make somthing like that but jazz it up with the tank coming against dragon's teeth and mb a little barb wire. Do u think this is do-able?

Bison44, I personally have not made a dio with "Dragon's Teeth", nor have I seen one. Perhaps there is one out there somewhere. Anyone?
Yes they did vary in size; from -2 up to 3+ feet in height. They were reinforced, with exactly what I do not know. I would imagine they use steel bars like re-bar.
Here's a nice site showing some: Dragon's Teeth

I certainly think it's a definit do-able diorama!!! Please make one, it would look cool.
Here's a nice ole photo of allies after breeching the D.T's

Here's another site with more pics of D.T's: D.T's

Armand Bayardi makes some really nice DT, including busted up ones with copper wire for the re-bar.

Sorry, don't have a link, don't even know if he has a website, but I do have his (this) product and it is really nice stuff.

Thanks,

Great stuff there Kevin! They do look sweet.

Bison, if you're not going to make your own, these are worth a first and second look. I found a picture of them at hobby-online. You can see them here: Hobby-Online Armand Bayardi's D.T.'s

I wish I saved the link - I have seen photos of broken dragons teeth and they were built with re-bar reenforcing rods. Don't know if All were, but I have seen it in at least one photo. The bar was running virtically from the ground to the top of the tooth.

I was thinking of using drywall mud (it is usually grey to white anyway) and casting them using my nephews many pyramid shaped hollow blocks. But a guy sure could put copper wire in for re-bar then smash them up a bit after. You guys have so many good ideas. Thanks again for the help and the links.

bison44, I am actually working on a dio that has some home made dragon's teeth. If you'd like you can check out my work in progress. If you are interested in finding out how I did it let me know.

Was the shape variable

as you can see on the pic, the shapes differ a bit, although the main shape remains the same.

I think Ken, with this pic, has given an excellent example on the use of DT...

I dont have any pics. or anything of the Dragons Teeth, but I do have something that may help you. I rented a movie a while back called "When Trumpets Fade" its not a real old movie maybee early 90's or ever 95 not sure but the quality was good. Anyways theres a few shots of some dragon teeh as a defense of the base, and in one scene theres a bunch of guys walking through them ( US Soldiers ), by the way the base is the US also. Hope this helps, and if not the movie is stil pretty good,

Mike

Beautiful find there TUGA sir. Very nice collection of obstacles. Some of which I have never seen before.
The "Nußknackmine" particularly looks pretty awesome when it's frame work is not hidden under the sand.
