I am not sure what they are called,but I am making marder 2 and this uses the pz 2 chassie, on the front a spare road wheel is stored and/or tow cable. What do these clasps look like when they don't have a spare wheel on them. I'd like to try my hand at making them and then adding homemade tow rope, A picture or descrition would be helpful.

I don't have my references so this is a best guess: I believe the bottom of the road wheels are held on with two L-shaped brackets and a mounting bolt is run through the road wheel center. There is usually a flat piece of metal that has a hole in it and the mounting bolt passes through the hole and a wing nut or other fastener holds it down.
