Hello
Because after my first post "My works" some guys wanted to see more pictures i decided to create new post with my Normandy diorama. There is a Steyer with SS Hitlerjugend soldiers. Most of them are converted from Gunze Sangyo one is Artisan Mori (driver) and one is Tristar panzer crewman. All heads are Yoshitaka Hirano sculptures.
Best regards

Pavka, your work is excellent, I really like the detail shot ontop the pole
I love extras like that!!! Could you explain how it was made? Was it a kit or scratch? And one other question what is the hedge made from? I am really curious about this. Again excellent work. Cheers Kevin

There is a fantastic element of realism here with the foliage, the bird, the overgrown road, the overgrown wall
and how the figures are interacting with each other.
The construction is excellent. Congratulations on an
excellent piece,very well done.

Awesome Dio Pavka. I wish that I could paint like you . The camo of the uniforms is very convincing. It almost looks like real cloth. the scene is realistic. I enjoy looking at it. Thanks for sharing. Bravo and three cheers

Pawel,
excellent diorama, very well done. All the individual parts are blended together in a complete scene.
One minor thing that caught my eye is the foliage on the vehicle. IMHO you should give that some extra attention. I feel the way it is now is a bit too much PE like..... I love the foliage where it is, but it looks atiny bit unrealistic to me. On the rear it looks to be quite ok, but on the bonnet it looks a bit too stiff. When the car moves forward, the leaves are blown towards the bonnet / the hood... in you dio they look to be too stiff forward.
It's the only minor thing that I can see that can even improve the diorama more.... I think you did a wonderfull job !!

Hello
Philip I remember You of course. You adviced me to post my works in Armorama - this fantastic forum and website
The bird's nest is scratch and the bird is from Tamiya Tank Crew set
Danny I know that the PE foliage on vehicle looks unrealistic (I have to change it I know), but it was my first experience in creating foliage and in fact it is my first diorama.
The ground foliage are dry flowers from DIY, an the grass is from Heki
Thank you again for comments
Best regards
Pawel

Outstanding diorama, Pawel. If this is your first diorama, you have have a big hit !
Steyr 1500 is excellent, and your figures really stand out. The "pea pattern" and "oak leaf pattern" are done amazingly well. Groundwork is incredible. It's the smallest details that really make it such a nice piece of work.
Hopefully we will get to see more of your work in the future
Cheers !!

Hello again
Thank you once more. Yes this is really my first diorama or the second if including the vignette with Schwimmwagen wich I posted earlier. But I was good prepared pupil :-) ,cause I carefully studied mainly Japanese diorama and armour magazines with works of such masters as Yoshitaka Hirano, Masahiro Doi, Kohji Itoh etc. I think that ie. this forum and such magazines give dioramists the best knowledge and help to correct own way.
Best regards

It's an excellent dio. i love the details.
But I still need to know how you managed to make that terrific oak leaf pattern in those uniforms. You didn't quite explain it on your first post.

Hello
Angela I will try to explain it but it isn't simple without step by step pics (I haven't got a digitala camera)
The trousers of these soldier as example:
first I apply the base colour it's Humbrol 98 matt chocolate, then the shades with 98 mixed with black, and after this highlights with 98 mixed with white.
Next step is to paint dark brown patterns its 98 mixed with black it should be darker than shades. You should create this by horizontal movements of brush I mean the patches have to be like short lines apllied patch after patch to achive desired shape of the whole bigger patch. I see that many modelers paint first the outlines and then fill the interior area. In my opinion this is the basic error. The final step is to paint light patterns inside the dark patches. In this example it's Humbrol82 (matt orange) mixed with 94 (matt brown yellow) and a small amount of white. You should apply it in the same way as the dark patches. And that's all. I hope that you understand something from that gibber :-)

Hello Kevin
the plants are from dry flower bunch purchased in DIY supermarket. I used also parsley in dried form taken from seasonings i sprayed all with 3M Spray Mount glue and then I painted it with air brush. I can't exactly help you because this plants are not produced by any Modelling companies. I think that in States you can find much more such dried flowers than in ie. Poland. By the way can anybody tell me about the latin name of Sea Foam which is unavailable in my country, maybe it grows somewhere here, but even the professors of Biological Univeristy :-) don't know the English name Sea Foam so they can't help me

Exceptional diorama, excellent job of painting and I really appreciate the little details that is what, at least in my opinion, makes a diorama art.
Extremely well done.

Great dio Pavka, I'm with the rest, your camo patterns are amazing, but the foliage is a knockout, gives the scene the realism. You've set the bar alittle higher.
Your plant name in latin is: Tiarella ‘Sea Foam’ -
Tricyrtis formosana ‘Gilty Pleasure
hope this helps

The dio looks great Pawel. The camo looks amazing! I also like the leaves on the front of the car. The birds nest is another great touch. Its the first I've ever seen in a diorama. I still think the camo is the best though. :-)
