I have the M48/M60 tracks (AF3510), and those are the octagonal ones. So then the M48/M60 T-142 tracks must be the older chevron type tracks?

Hey Guy, Check With Rob..i.e. Sabot, I just bought some treads for the same kit and he pointed me in the right direction. Mine were off a Sgt York kit, That someone had laying around.. Anyway he should be able to tell you which ones you can use. OR since he is away, You might holler at Gunnie; Good Luck with the kit. I think you will like it. I just completed a Tamiya M-60. But also have the Italeri kit and will be starting on it pretty soon.
Oh yeah, You might also give Sabot's review on that same kit a gander in the reviews section.

I just went through my Magach6(blazer variant) pics and this is the basic breakdown
73-early 80s tankks have older chevron type
80s- late80s indiviual pads
late 80s-90s Merkava style tracks
just as with the sherman modifications M60 changes accured in batches and it wouldn't be uncommon for units within the same brigade to have different batch vehicles. as a rule most blazer tanks in lebanon during the initial invasion seem to have the newer individual blocks. While those seen during the operation litani and the withdrawal from Sinai have the earlier chevron type. Late MAgach 6s have Merkava track as well as the full upgraded site system and extenal box as well as modified rear basket and thermal sleeve for the barrel. also as a genereal rule the smallest unit modified at one time is the Battalion(excluding SF forces)this allows the logistics of supply and repair units to remain unchanged as these are integralto to the battalion level.
