Hi all!
My work so far:
Still missing at this point:
- Painting and weathering 50% of the interior parts.
- Set up a proper base environment (perhaps a pier deck?)
- Scratchbuilt David Bushnell figurine.
Feedbacks are most welcome!

That looks awesome! It's something different than a nuclear submarine for a change hehe :-)
Oh and respect for Bushnell (he was the one who used it right?).....you must be a brave man to do something stupid like that haha :-)
Nice one skipper!

That has got to be one of the most interesting ideas I have seen in a long time!!! Certainly a pioneer of the sneaky little commando style underwater attack vehicles still in use today.

Thank you Guys!!!
To Martin: Yes I am about to do a stupid thing: scratchbuilt David's figurine... but then... it may work properly!!!
To Alan: (this is a copy of my entry description)
Build and display a cut-away model of David Bushnell's Turtle - one of the very first Special Operations, from my point of view. But since I am a submarine entusiast, I am a usual suspect in this matter... Anyway: it's a one man mission against a much bigger opponent... The model will be displayed on a wooden base, perhaps with a figurine next to it, so that the viewers can have a sense of scale - usualy my midget subs are magnets to some silly remarks
But thank you for supporting
Skipper

Actually he didn't. The first American submariner was...from the army. His name was Sgt. Ezra Lee. I'll leave it to you all to decide who is stupid or brave, but they apparently couldn't find a Sailor who wanted to volunteer:-)

To all that replyed:
Thanks for supporting and for the incentive!
Regarding the figurine, it's not going to be inside the Turtle, because (so well mentioned by Rob (aka Cob)) David Bushnell never used it on the real mission, and all the details and little pieces would be blocked by the figurine!
I plan on making my "David" sitting on the border of the wooden base, in order to break all the roundness of the base/turtle.
But I will finish the Turtle first, and then I'll tackle David
Thank you to all,
Skipper

Skipper, excellent reproduction! I must admit that, I was wondering how you represent the ‘Turtle’, well you did an outstanding job of it. Congratulations, I do believe David Bushnell would be impressed!

Thank you Eric!
Regarding David's... well...hummm..I hope so!
If the figurine doesn't turn out real nice, than I will just skip it! But let's hope not
Thank you once again,
Skipper

Viva...
After seeing your first efforts in modeling the figure of David Bushnell, which i really hope it turns out to be very nice, I became astonished with the work you've done with the Turtle itself... great wood colours and metal work... I'm hoping to see the two pieces together( the Turtle and the Figure)... Keep up the good work.
See yaaa
