This probably won't help much, but I always mix my own. Here's why. Any commercial colour only matches Field grey @ a set time. There are at least four different "Field Greys", original 1936 issue, with bottle green collar, Mod 42 issue, & 1944 shortened jacket (this is almost a slate grey colour). The trousers to the 1936 issue were grey without the green tinge found in the jacket. Later issues matched. In addition, the SS had their own similar issue, & a curious "Field Brown" colour. Luftwaffe units uniforms were much bluer, but note paratroops wore Field Grey trousers (similar to army colour). Once you factor in different batches, manufacturers, effects of sun etc, the range is enormous. My personal mix is a mid grey, white & black mixed, then add yellow, and a very small amount of blue. Season to taste!!

Hi,
Do not worry what your Field Grey looks like. There are different shades of that color. Everything from greenish tint, medium grey, almost a dark green, olivish tint, and even a late war Brownish Khaki tint. So there is no wrong way to do Field Grey.

Yep, nicely put Chris, I think that's what I was trying to say in typical long-winded manner!

does testors have a color for this
Travis,
The answer to your orginal question. Under the Testors Model Master 2000 series colors the number is 2014 "German Uniform" (Feldgrau). If you mix a dap or so of 2051 "Faded Olive Drab" you can reproduce many variations that have been expressed.
Good Luck
Jay
