Hi all!
This is my latest model, itīs a Tiger I early, from Tamiya, but itīs an old Tamiya mold, back from the 70īs. The model has a lot of flaws, but since I bought it at a very low price I though to give it a chance and improve it a little.
I used the indi tracks from the Academy set for itīs Tiger I.
I add a lot of details, some from my spare parts box and others scratchbuilt.
I hope to rear some comments, everything is welcome!

Paulo,
You double did-it on the IMG tags. Just copy the tag and URL from the gallery and paste it here. It's not necessary to hit the IMG tag button above to do that.
Thanks,
Jim

Hi TsunamiBomb!
The painting is a problem!
I īhavenīt decide how to paint it yet!
Iīm open for suggestion, Iīm thinking about painting it with that camo, overall dark grey + Dark yellow in stripes, but Iīm not sure....
I also think about painting it overall dark grey and use a white wash for a winter camo, but my last tank used that camo, so Iīd like to change a bit...
Cheers (:-)

Paulo I like the look of this, it just shows what you can do with an old kit. I'm sure when it's painted it will look excellent. I notice you took the time to remove the poorly moulded on track pulling cable on the left hand side. I'll now attempt to give you a view of mine, bear with me I'm hopeless @ this.

Ok. I give up. It's in my gallery anyway. I saved money on the rear deck by covering it in troops.LOL. It's painted as an SS vehicle @ Narva in 1944 (IV SS Panzerorps?) attched to SS Nordland. It's far too clean & should probably be whitwashed. I drilled out the smoke dischargers to make them look better, never thought of straws - brilliant!

Thanks Alan. I will crack it eventually I promise!
This kit was bought for me for Christmas in about 1980. I finally finished it about some time ago (can't remember when). In the years between I had a holiday from modelling, til the wife suggested I take it up again & I "found" the Tiger. The figures are all from the Tamiya Flak Crew (including the tank crew) chopped around.

Hi people,
I need some ideas about what camo scheme to use in this model, Iīm a little confused if itīs correct or not to apply the three color scheme for this early version with Feifel aircleaner.
Any help will be very welcome!

Good point. Now I think about it probably shouldn't be three colour. My rationale was that it was a re-issued overpainted vehicle, but the photo showing the early Tiger 1s working with Nordland was too dark & contrasty made it impossible to tell what the base colour was (they were whitewashed, but I reasoned they had to be something underneath). I didn't whitewash it for a winter scheme because I'm a sucker for the 3 colour scheme & I'm nuts about SS camouflage for the tank riders so wanted it to be sort of autumnal. As you say it is FAR too clean.

What setting do you want the Tiger to be located? Desert camo would be different than one in Russia

Are the smoke dischargers the outer jacket of electrical wire? They are wire with red stripes. Seems too thick to be drinking straws

Looks so different already with the grey. The is no more a mixture of colors from metal, brass, PE, plastic, drinking straws....

It does look so much different now that the primer is down. Not sure how you intend on painting the road wheels, but here is how I do it. I normally pre-shade with black the whole wheel well area and pertinent parts of the tank where you will want shadows. You can still do this even though your grey is down. Once black, you can carefully airbrush your camo colors and the inner hubs of the wheels, then touch up the black of the road wheels to erase any overspray and create a sharp break of color.

Hi all!
Now I have made the camuflage stripes using Dark Yellow. I also started to paint various itens, but is still missing to paint a lot of small details.
The weatheirng effect also started, and I put the decals on place, the turret numbers are drytransfers, the balkancross are decals.
Opinions are welcomed! Enjoy!
