What color are these typically? I do plan on painting with enamels and oils to get teh wood look but I need to know base color and complementary oil shade.

The info with the Precision ammo crates saif dark green or dark grey.. the stuff with the Hudson and allen markings said wooden crates with 5 grey cardboard liner boxes . the labeling on the later war steel cartriges were in light blue.
