While replacing a badly moulded side panel on my Italeri Tiger 1 I stumbled on a quick and easy way to make zimmerit. I thought I would share. I started by making a mould of the existing pattern with a thick layer of white glue. The white glue is easily removed from the plastic when its dry. I then applied a layer of 5 minute epoxy mixed 60% epoxy and 40% hardener. This allowed the epoxy to dry flexible and easily trimmed with scissors or a knife. I then applied the white glue mould over the area that I wanted to fix and pressed firmly. This allowed the excess epoxy to sqeeze out the sides until I got the desired thickness. I wiped off the excess and allowed to dry overnight.. Presto. This technique worked so well I think I will use it from now on. Give it a try. I think that if a large enough peice is made that I could even cut custom peices from it and glue them on a tank.

Hi,
It really looks like a very easy way to make zimmerits using everyday materials. I wish you could post some pics of what you did
Cheers
