As my X-mas present to the site, I though I would make available to you all some of the photos I got over my T-Giving break. Myself & Dave GRUMPYOLDMAN O'meara visited the Pershing Museum at the United States Military Academy in West Point NY. I haven' got all of the pics of the visit sorted just yet, but these were taken the next day so were easy to isolate. At any rate, in my gallery under "Thunderbolt VII" you can find 30 detail pics of a vehicle representing Col. Creighton Abrahms' M4A3E8/76W. I have no information as to wether this is THE t-bolt, or just a tank painted to represent it. The curators were not available for comment while I was there. It has also been pointed out to me (By Ex-Royal-Thanx Bryan!) that the tracks are Post-war type, so anyone modeling from these photos may wish to take that into account.
All photos are sole property of myself, and are freely available for download to all members of this site.
Happy Holidays to all!
Rob, Michelle, Logan, & Ryan. (:-)

Well Bryan is right about the tracks being used more after the war ..They were sometimes used during the War too... I think Andy put up a picture of a Sherman during the winter of 44/45 with these tracks on it ..I remember commenting on how surprised I was to see these tracks so early...

I have seen two pics of Thunderbolt VII in the Concord book Sherman At War part two The only pic that shows the tracks is a bit blurry as well as showing the muddy tracks
However the tracks do look like the T66 links If it wouldn't be for the copyright laws I'd scan the pics and post them i did a yahoo search and ccouldn't find any pics of this particular tank

thanks LogansDad, these pics are of great help!
I wonder if this tank was ever fitted with extra armor.
I have DML's Korean M4a3E8 and I want to backdate it to WWII Abrams' T-bolt.

Hey Fellas, Boxing Day greetings to one & all!
Glad you liked my little submision, and hope it will help in some small way.
Chaddo- Got Concord's "Shermans at War vol2" for X-mas ( no surprise as I bought it for myself the day before I took these pics...)& yes indeed, T-bolt 7 is right there on p.59. Man, if you can figure out what tracks those are under all that mud, I gotta say all hail Zod! All I can really see is what MAY be T-bar cleats, which look similar to the (slightly less muddy) tracks of the E8 on the bottom of p.58
Elad, yes indeed, the Actual T-bolt 7 (in the pictures contained in the abvementioned book) has supplemental armor fitted to the Hull front, hull sides, and turret. I can e-mail you a few scans if you like, but you'll have to wait a week or so until I'm back at my desk. I'm on my Mother-in-law's computer at this time, & the dialup lag is killing me! (TOTALLY spoiled by Cat 5 hookup at work...)
So, in light of this evidence it's fairly clear that the Tank in my photos is NOT Thunderbolt VII, but simply a generic Late-or Post-war M4a3e8 painted up in Abrahm's markings. Oh well, at least these may help to get some of the details right...
Thanks to all who partook, enjoyed, replied, & offered help/info. May your New Year be bright!!!
