Hello Andy,
The cable was made by winding a single 0.010" wire around a group of 0.010" wires.

Very good, I like what you've done with the battery leads and cases. I wouldn't light a sigarette near those....still, this is the rivet forum, so what about the connectors between the battery cells, will you repllace/cover the molded ones with some allu-foil ones there, as the real things would have been quite thick metal plates. Just a thought..
Your interior scratch building skills are an inspiration and a great help.

Thanks Henk,
I wil leave them as they are as the whole thing gets painted black, and with the hull roof on almost impossible to see!

John, you're welcome, will you be glueing the hull top, glacis etc. in place or leave them loose for future show off's? I left the hull top of my Academy Tiger I loose as it would have covered away the driver/radiooperator compartment. I have two pic's of the interior in my gallery if you want to see what I mean. That was oob, I didn't scratch, add wire then, but since I have been on this site I have started doing a lot of scratching. That's what I mean with you, and other ace modelers here being an inspiration to get better, try new thing etc. But I digress, back to your model..
Cheers

Hi, Remarkable build so far. I like all the detail work inside, all the lines and wiring here and there. Also the PE flooring. Cant' wait to see more. Keep us informed.
Take care, Sgirty

Thanks Sgirty, the floor plates where cut from a sheet of Aber generic floor plate. I made a thin cardboard mock-up as a pattern. I like the result, but it was a pain to cut!

Hi Rick!
The base kit is the New Connections Bergschlepper version of the VK 3601with the hull roof from the regular VK 3601 Kit. Parts of the kit are great, and others, if you excuse the pun are a BEAR!
Happy Holidays!

Oh wow! This is brilliant! Where did all the little labels & such come from? John you have got some talent there. Only one question, I'm not that familiar with this vehicle, I thought it was the failed Tiger project & all the chassis went for Elephants - was this short production run? Also on the Tiger I think there was a PTO off the prop-shaft to drive the turret, was this the same?

Excellent, I love the wear and tear, the scratches look very good. What color is that back wall? I thought it would have been painted offwhite as wel, but this looks good with the labels and scratches..
Can't wait to see the finished job
Cheers

Hi Steve, the lables are from tecmod and fingerprint designs. the VK3601 is the forerunner to the Tiger (H) not the Tiger (P). It was the Porsche hulls that became Elefants. What VK 3601 hulls were left supposedly were converted to Bergschleppers, though no photo's exist that I am aware of. 5 turrets were completed and to be part of the westwall, but where found in the Krups factory at the end of the war. Thre is no evidance that a turret PTO was ever installed.

Henk. the rear wall is red oxide primer, with black wash.

Hi Sticky!
It looks so real and great!
My only comment, would be a litle bit more wear on the Aber floor plates... but if you leave it as it is, it still looks great!
