Hello guys and gals;
I´m finishing a Tiger I model, but I haven´t decided a painting scheme yet.
It´s a Tamiya model but the old mold (back from the 70´s) and it´s a early version with feifel air cleaners.
My first thought was to paint it in dark yellow with green stripes or brown stripes, the problem is: I didn´t find a good picture or a profile to visualize it, so I´d like to ask for help in suggestions for a good scheme, any help will be very much appreciated.
Cheers and Happy new year

Hi Paulo,
Bovington Museum's restoration of their Tunisian Tiger boasts paint matched to actual paint found protected behind the tool bin. Here's 50 pages of the project with about 150 photos:

Check this out... and notice the Tiger from 4./SS Pz. Rgt 1, April 1943, Kharkov... appears to be hard-edge yellow stripes over the base gray (IMHO).

Also, Squadron's Tiger I in Action booklet has a 3-tone profile of a Das Reich Tiger, 823; has yellow and green stripes over the base gray. The bridging between the old and new colors of the panzer forces.

Hi all!
Allan and Fred, I´m tempted to make a solid dark yellow Tiger, but I´d like to put some green or brown stripes on it, something like this pic:
Pic from: http://www.alanhamby.com/paint.html
But I don´t have decals to make it...
Steve, I just finish a Pz 4 with kharkov markings and winter camo, so I´d like to innovate this time!
Thanks for the great sites and suggestions, and here is some pics of my model:
1) This pic shows off the side skirt that I scratchbuilt with foil:
2)In this pic, the rear fenders and accessories:
3)In this one, the left side skirts:
Cheers

I like these pics for the early Tiger from the link you provided.
Fourth picture: Schwere Pz. Abt. 504, March 1943, Tunisia
My fav is the one on the very bottom: Tiger Gruppe Fehrmann, April 1945
I don't know why but I prefer one solid color or the three color pattern. I'm not too fond of two colors

Why not do one of Das Reich tigers in the spring of 43 when the grey base coat was over sprayed with dark yellow ...At this time the numbers were started with an 8 and were either solid white like the number 812 (TIKI) of white out line .

Hi Rick,
I had seen these tank, but I tought that all numbers were white outlines, now you´ve told me that I can make it (the 812) with solid white numbering?
I liked it´s scheme, do you have any picture of this tank?
Cheers
