It has been a while since the last update, the exterior is nearing completion, and it is time to concentrate on the vehicles, the balance of the figures, and the interior of the hotel.
Inside of the wine shop behind the window is a woman opening the shutters, although, I have not quite figured out how to photograph her yet.
The ladder in the small room leads to the roof access. The roof will eventually have a MG directed towards the area where the tree is located.
I have a few more signs and some advertising to go up just have not figured out where to put them.
I am still playing with vehicles and have yet to decide which I will use other than a kublewagon. I have four more civilians to include and another eleven Germans.
All comments and suggestions welcomed
Thanks
Jay

Jay WOW!!!!! Excellent, excellent work!!! I really like your attention to detail, the street, the trees and especially the buildings are great. I am a bit curious to what the scene will all consist of. With a title with deception in it I cant wait to see the surprise you have in store for us. Definetly keep us posted. Cheers Kevin

Kevin,
Thanks for your compliments.
Alan,
As part of Operation Overlord, Operation Titanic involved a number of different deceptions to throw off any suspecting Germans as to the actual time and landing zones in the early morning hours of June 6. One of the deceptions involved the dropping of dummy paratroopers in different locations throughout Normandy. Two of the drops involved SAS teams of six and a number of “Ruperts,” burlap and straw paratroopers, with recorded explosions in an attempt to make the German garrisons believe that they were under attack. Many of the dummies were designed to explode further adding to the confusion as well as destroy evidence of their phony nature. Although, this is only one part of the total operation, is it the inspiration for the scene that I am constructing.
Darryl,
The tree is constructed with a craved dowel for the trunk attached to dried plant for the branches. The foliage is Woodland Scenics “Fine-leaf foliage.”
Thanks
Jay

Very nice. You have come a long way on this.
I would like to offer that you should paint/stain the 'dead' edges of the dio so that they are 'dissconnected' for the viewer.
The white furniture could use a touch of pastels low on the legs. Not much, just a smidge, all that use outside will get them a bit dirty.
The corner between the lamp and tree is screaming for something, maybe a fountain, statue, bench.....
How about a civilian car or some type of delivery wagon/truck??
Very good job.
