Hi Chaps,
I've placed a walkaround of the recently restored Panther D, which is permanent placed in a park in my home-town Breda, on my website.
I hope you enjoy it, John.

Great shots of the restored Panther Ausf D. What is really neat is the fact that the pics were taken in light rain. Shows off the effects on the surface.
Panther D is in nice shape considering its more then 60 years old !!
Thanks for posting the pics !!
Greetz !!

Thanks for the kind comments, guys!!
@ TUNA: In fact they treated the whole tank with a kind od resin coating, so it will stay longer in good condition, and, if someone has the guts to cover the thing with graffitti, it can be easily cleaned.... .
When I make another walkaround, I would be happy to share it with you guyz...
Grtz, and a happy new year, John.

Hi Davey...
Yes, that's zimmerit, so I think the whole tank was originally covered with Zimmerit, but as long as I know it, and that's 40 years, it was exposed without the Zimmerit.
As for the history: It is said that the Polish knocked it out near a very small village near Breda.
After the Polish liberated Breda, they gave the knocked out Panther to the inhabitants of Breda. All this was done by Brig. Gen. Maczeck.
This is all I know about it, but if you're interested, I can try to dig a little deeper!!
Let me know, John.

It is really nice to see that some one took the time to restore this old Panther ...too bad it will still be outside but hey if the protected it at least..good for them... I have pictures of this tank before the renovation and they have done a great job.
