Im working on my first one but I have been so impressed with the detail in the figures I see in the dio's on this website.

What scale are most of these in?

An example would be the "sniper" dio on the front page.

thanks,

I believe it is 1/35 any larger scale would require really deep pockets. I know nearly every dio build I've spoke to build in 1/35 not only for cost but also space.

1/35th is the most popular, then I'd say 1/72 come in second.
There are simply many more kits and accesories for 1/35. Plus size wise you'd need a lot of display space if you went bigger.
You will notice that the nicer resin figures have more defined detail. And as you get better and more comfortable you'll start adding more and more detail no matter the scale.

I would have to say that 35 is the most popular scale of them all.

Just thinking though, i mean i dont do it, but wargaming? Does that count as "diorama"?

No doubt 1/35th for lots of reasons, many covered above. Availability of kits, figures and accessories, space, and stil enough detail with the small scale. Alot of detail is lost on 1/72nd, although I have seen some awesome 1/72nd dios. The figures in 1/72 leave alot to be desired for the figure painter though and you must abandon alot of the techniques you use for larger scales.

I do plan a 1/16th dio though when I get my Tiger!
