HI all,
My first post on the forum and my first ever afv model (built a couple of helicopters before).
Any criticism/comments are highly welcome and appreciated.

For a first AFV that's a darned good effort. Spray the vehicle and figure with flat coat to get rid of the high-gloss finish and it'll be even better. A bit of dust around the running gear would improve it even more!

Welcome to the site, and straight in with some pic's. That's the way to do it.. I'm with Dave on this one, very nice for a first effort, I like the 'Yellow over Red Primer' scheme, but it looks that the number decal on the left side is not quite horizontal? Which kit is it and is it going in a diorama?
Cheers

Thanks for the comments guys, I really appreciate them. You are right about the decals, Henk, they are slightly out of alignment, but frankly I was too reluctant to touch them after once they had adhessed.
The kit is a Revell 1/35 Jagdtiger. With my current skills it is probably still a bit premature to be thinking about dioramas (thats just another way of admitting "i'm scared to death of them " ). Once I've developed my skills a bit more I will definitely start considering dioramas.

Welcome to Armorama
That is a good looking Jagdtiger and very well done for your first AFV.
How have you done the tracks? I see you've missed some areas to paint. The same for the inner site of the wheels;)
What will be your next model?

Thanks for the comments . Tracks are plastic and have been assembled link by link using the tutorial I found earlier somewhere on armorama.
With the tracks I've made the mistake of assembling the whole model (including the side skirts) and then attempting to paint it. While this worked well for the hull, trying to paint the tracks/wheels (especially in the light of their arrangement) was a nightmare. Hence the sloppy paintwork on the wheels/tracks.
I am planning to practice a bit on the 1/72 scale, before continuing with the 1/35. I currently have revell 1/72 pz iv, pz iii and stug iv in the pipeline.

Is this your first 1/35th scale effort? No worries Subjugator, your on the right track, your paying attention to detail and adjusting your weathering to it. Wow, all of the first time builders are really turnin out some excellent stuff, guess the access to info is payin off!
Well done Sub,it`s a great build!

Great first effort! You'll need to watch your mix for the airbrush...it's spattering at the edges.
It took me a LOOOONG time to get over the fear of an airbrush but the results can be awsome. Just look at some of the work these folks put out here at Armorama.
Your second pic (close up of the left side [spare track area]) shows what I'm referring to: it appears that the mix was a bit too thick, but not by much. One method I found that works decent is to mark (either on the model or in your "minds eye") where the camo is going and paint the outlines first. Aim your spray "in," that is, if you have a wide band, paint the left edge first aiming towards the right....it'll give a cleaner line.
Did you use enamels or acrylics?
Use this Jagdtiger to play with different mediums (and get it ready for the dreaded diorama ).

When you are done painting and weathering a couple coats of dullcoat will be the perfect finish. Believe me I had a few models turn out shiny and for the small investment of a can of dullcoat it was definitely worth it.

Thanks a lot for all the praises, comments and tips, I'm learning a great deal from them and will be sure to try to apply them in my future projects.
The kit is manufactured by Revell AG and was painted using Revell enamels. I'm planning to switch to Tamiya acrylics, but they are not as widely availble in the nearby hobby shops as I would like them to be.
