Does anyone know if the Fallschirmjager were still using their drop weapons container (Waffenhalter) by the time of the Normandy battles? I'm referring to the closed, wheeled container included in Dragon's German Fallschirmjager (Crete 1941) set. I have some reference photo's of Fallschirmjager in September near Nijmegen pushing supplies in wooden wheelbarrows. There are a number of these wheelbarrows, all appearing to be of standard construction. One nearest to the camera has some illegible stencilling along the handle. Were these issue wheelbarrows intended to replace the previous containers, seeing as the Fallschirmjager were by now being used in a primarily infantry role?

I'm pretty sure they didn't use their drop containers becuase as you said they were being used in purely the infantry role by this stage.
