Been in a major modeling slump of late so I hoped to crank this one out over a long weekend. No luck.

A much more detailed build log can be seen over on my vBench on Planetarmor.com:

Have a look and let me know what you think. I need all the help I can get with this one - I have no references.

Ahh, c'mon man break her out and have another go at her!!

I agree with replacing the barrel with some plastic tubing, I just didn't have any of the correct diameter and wasn't about to wait to get some.

Hopefully I will get construction finished up by the end of the week and some paint blown on her.

Thanks for looking

Thanks for the words of encouragment gentlemen, it helps keep me going on these projects.

This is definitely going to be a German captured vehicle. I can't miss out on painting something dark yellow!

Great work so far !

You are lucky !
I'm still eagerly waiting for this kit to be released in France !
Have you seen the camos on french 1940 tanks ? You won't want to paint it dark yellow afterwards ! (well, I'm french, soI might ba a bit biased... )

Hi Stuke ...Coming along nicely sir ...I was worried about that joint in the middle of the cast front end but you have done a great job on getting rid of the seam line ..Strange how Trumpeteer did that piece. There seems to be a lot of work and putty needed on this kit ..
I guess it's not a week end project after all ..lol Now get some paint on this Babe...I can see it painted Panzer grey used against the partisans ..Prince Eugen(spelling ) (too lazy to check this morning) Division..How cool would that be ..lol (I know it ain't yellow)
all the best

Looking good Stuke. Dont know much about this tank, but the article that Steve Zaloga did in MM a while back, made it very appealing. Again, your model has shone a nice light on it, as well. What have you used for the texture.. Mr. Surfacer?? Im also looking forward to seeing it painted and your usual weathering style. Should be nice. All the best!

Thank you all for the compliments, I appreciate the feedback.

Rick, after spending all that time filling and sanding the joint line on the front. Mic Bradshaw pointed out to me that there actually was a joint there on the real thing. Looking more closely at my reference shots I saw that sure enough there is one!! Yikes!!

I've never had luck with Panzer Grey, so I gotta stick with the yellow.

Frank, I used both the technique of brushing liquid glue and stippling it with a stiff brush, as well as Mr. Surfacer for the surface finish. I'm looking forward to seeing how it looks under a coat of paint.

Larry, overall impression of the kit is favorable. Sure there are some soft details, and some completely missed. But for the price of the kit, these things can be overlooked and improved upon. Check out the link in my sig to get a more in-depth build log of the kit. I think you may find it informative.

Thanks again gentlemen,

Stuke
