This is my entry for Alone, Against all odds. The general figure is from Verlinden and the guy in the outhouse is from Tamiya. Both figures had minor work done to them. The general has two stars shaved off and his pistol replaced witha Colt .45 and the seargent had his pants bunched up around his ankles.
Outhouses were scratch built from Bass wood.

That IS against All Odds... I like the dio.
One thing I'd offer is to dremel the colar a bit thinner on the inside where the neck would be on the coat hanging over the door.
Maybe a smidge more dark wash at the base of the outhouses to show the wood soaking up winters harsh weather.

Overall - great work - nicely done.

Actually looks like the other way around. There are stripes on the jacket over the outhouse door and a star on the officer's helmet. That enlisted man is in for a world of hurt!!!

A very amusing and unique little dio. The figures suit the piece and the toilets are nicely built. Maybe a little more colour/weathering variation in the planks used, would have added and extra touch?? Same "colour/weathering variation" around the actual toilets ground area, point could be made. Good entry as its something different!

Well done my friend. One thing I noticed what happened to the door on the enlisted outhouse just curious.

Keenan, I think that is the point, to show how much better the officers have it. But that's jus tmy take on it.

Well done Jesse, I like it, very original & entertaining.

Thanks for all the great comments, I'm glad you all enjoy my efforts. Yeah, there was not supposed to be a door on the enlisted outhouse, just to show how good the officers have it. The outhouses have plenty of weathering on them, I'm just not too good with the digital camera yet. It's the wife's new toy and she won't let me touch it .

Hope I'm not too late to throw in my 2 cents but its a really nice dio. Its got everything...detail, humor, story all packed in a simple and highly effective 2 figure (well one and a half if you just consider the NCO legs) 2 building dio. Amazing stuff Jesse.

I liked the crudely drawn "Enlisted" wording, it adds a nice touch.

Thanks to everybody for all the great comments. I had a lot of fun building it. I've had a couple of people offer to buy (one guy was willing to pay $80!) but I like it too much. Thanks again, it feel good to have your work appriciated by fellow modelers. The wife and kids usualy just look at my stuff and say "That's nice" and go on with their lives.

Jesse
