I am getting ready to paint some 1/35 figures in a modern US desert scheme. I am wondering on the best way to approach and paint them. The new digital schemes seem are a bit hard to duplicate so the older version would be fine.
While on the topic what is the best way to paint the normal US camo scheme on any model (1/35-1/72)?

Thanks
TGY

If you look under features, in the figures section, you will find an article, on how to paint chocolate chip camo.

Ciao That-Guy,
Sorry that I haven't seen your post sooner. If you paint the digital camo, good luck with that. Man, it would be brutal I would bet. Not to simplify it, it just takes a lot of practice. Paint the base coat with the most common color of the camo, then paint the strips with the other colors.
I would like to see someone duplicate the digital stuff, though. Man, that would be something to see if they could pull it off.
Ciao for now
Rob

As with any complex pattern, be it stripes, tartans or camo schemes, the best this is practice.
Try this. Find a site with the pattern you want. Print it. Use this as a guide and practice on sheet stock until you are happy with the results. You might want to take notes about the colors.
While the advice to look up the 6 color scheme is good if that's what you're replicating, and it would certainly give you guidance in what colors to use for the three color desert, it is specific to that pattern.
If I were doing Marpat in 1/35, I'd use a brush that was cut way down and to represent the digital pattern. Remember , those individual "pixels" are between 1/4 and 1/8 inch, so they will ont be individually visible in 1/35.
If you feel really ambitious, you could find the pattern you want online and download it and make a sheet of the pattern in scale in your word program by importing the swatch as clip art then have it printed in laser color at a print shop and literally decal your figure.
