I just found this: Merkave Mk-4
There's something about the design of the Merkava series that just looks so cool.

Thanks for the link Ken. Merkava is the meanest looking beast in modern land combat; however I liked Mk.3 better, this latest version has really odd "saucer like" turret..

Thanks for the update on the Merkava. That new turret looks like prehistoric beast sitting up there. I noticed it still has the ball and chain armor off the back. (Flashback to scratchbuilding a set of those for my Merkava Mk. I after a six month search for the white metal set. Of course mine are better because they made from real chain-yard sale jewelry sacrificed to the cause!) :-)

Ken, real good source.
And the new Merk is beautifull (for me at least)
I got the MK I and MK II in my collection, missing the MK III and IV now :-)
Thanks for the link

Lets wait and see if Academy will jump on producing it for us. They did the Mk-3 not too long ago.

Don't be in any rush the merk4 is still just a test bed vehicle. the final production vehicle is still a way off. and active vehicles further still. I must say I wonder at the need for a motorized "semi-auto" ready round unit. The old open door see what u want and load seems less likely to fail and easier to maintain than the semi auto. Those front angles though are way cool. wonder what the underlying main armor looks like, there seems to be lots of room inside.

Jack,
This set is supose to be used with the Academy kit? if so, does it kit represents a prototype version, not an operational one, what changes we have to do to get it more accurized?
Thanks

As far as I know Paulo it is destined for the MK III D Baz which I believe is operational. I would however defer to someone more of an authority on the subject like Shiryon.

if it's the steel wheel set were talking about it definitely is active duty not prototype. the prototypes i've seen all have rubber rims.

Shiron, Do you know if the Merkava MK III from Academy is an acurate model for the MK III?
If so, I can use the set of all stell wheels that Jack mentioned?
Thanks for the help

Paulo unfortunately the MK3 kit from Academy is closest to the prototype. AEF and I think Cromwell make updated turrets to correct the most glaring mistakes. I also remember someone doing an article on fixing the kit on the web.I think though if your just making it for yourself I'd put on the wheels.
