I have a sheet of various size bolts. Never used them before. I can think of several ways to cut them from the board. What do you recommend I do to remove them? Then, how do you sand to get rid of any excess plastic? Lastly, what do you use to get them to adhere to the surface?
thanks

Sounds like a resin sheet as opposed to the Grandt Line of injection molded plastic (they come on a sprue). I just cut one out leaving surrounding flat over pour. Then I sand it down until the flat sheet is gone (using the tip of curved needle nose tweezers to hold bolt). A miniscule drop of superglue placed with a needle tool (see Modeler's Toolbox article in features) at the spot where you want the bolt head. Place head with tweezers on drop of glue.

Rob--thanks for the response. Obviously, class has yet to begun. I read where someone put the bolts on with varnish as an adhesive and wondered if that was what most folks did. You are correct in that the bolts of various sizes are on a single lage sheet of resin. It's holding the dang things while sanding that concerns me. I will try the method you describe and let you know the results.
thanks

I haven't used the bolt heads you mentioned, but I learned from the car builders that using clear laquer can be effective when attaching small, delicate parts that won';t be subjected to much stress. I used this technique in attaching cartridge shell to the ground work on my Custer's Last Stand vignette by Andrea. I put the cartriges where I wanted them and carefully put as dollop of dullcoat on each. After this had dried, I ht the whole thing with a spray of dullcoat and the cartidges' carrier was fully blended into the surrounding ground work. THe same can be done with flat PE pieces and I'm sure your bolt heads would adhere aas well that way.
