Here's a couple of shots of my Canadian Army M113 A1 with 106mm recoilless.
I used the Eduard interior set which was particularly nice for the floow. I rebuilt the tiller bar assembly (Thanks for the photo Paul). The Fuel Tank and heater are Maple leaf models products. I scratchbuilt the ammunition rack and added 10 storage tubes from the Academy 106mm Mutt kit. The C2 rucksacks are kit bashed from the Academy M113 personnel sprue. The FNC1s and the SMG C1 are from the Italeri Modern weapons set.
On the exterior the 106mm is from the Academy mutt, but a replaced the barel with the one from Modelpoint. I had to move the antenna mounts so I used the ones from the mutt. (not much left on that. think it will go to the crock park) Abit of screen over the engine grills and drilled out the headlights for Grief Headlight set. I will use the kit supplied US track since this particular vehicle was in service before the Diehl track came into use.

That's a big exposed mount but it's looking good. How about a closeup of the comm wiring.

I guess the exposed mount is why it was quickly discarded and replaced by the TOW in the 1970s. WRT the comms system this is the best I can do now that the top is cemented down:
The Grief lenses are GF 211

Is the weapons set w/ the C1 out of production? I can't find one listed anywhere.

Dave,
I believe it is. The weapons are actually FN FALs and British Sterling SMGs. I bought the set years ago.

I'm fairly certain I've got those weapons as spares from the Italeri set. No problem donating them to help out the Canadian build effort.
Firestorm in Australia makes a resin SLR set as well.

That's interesting. You learn something new everyday. the only difference between an Aussie or Brit SLR and a C1 is the rearsight and body cover. Hardly noticeable in 1:35 scale.

Its Eduard kit No. 35 426 M113A1 Interior. There was a whole whack of parts I did not use. For example they give you a pice of treadpattern floor for the driver'. floor. However, in our M113s that area was not tread pattern.

I don't recall seeing any M113s with tread pattern in the drivers compartment. Especially not the M106s and M577s that we had.

Never seen it on any M113, Canadian, american or others. Odd that it would be in the PE set though.

A good looking conversion, Paul, very clean. What kind of product did you use on the engine grills? I haven't been able to find a mesh fine enough.

There are two different meshes. On the left ide its a fine screen I found at amodel railroad store and the other is an Aber PE screen I've cucked the packaging so I'll have to check the product number on their web site.

I should have it done this weekend. That photo is about 3 weeks old. I'm spending 3 days at Castle Greyskull and will be home again on Thursday. all I need to do now is add the CFR plates, flags, tac signs and weather it and i'm done.
