Hi to all Aussie members - I am researching the Matilda in Aussie service at the moment for a future model, and could do with close-up graphics for either/both 2/4 Armoured Regiment and New South Wales Lancers. I have some info on tank numbers & names, but all the pics I can find are small and don't show the unit markings clearly. Ideally I would want to produce my own decal artwork from the pics!

I should have known Roo'd be the first, thanks Mate, I can scale that down nicely. The NSW Lancers may be a bit more of a challenge! I could only find one pic of their museum exhibit, at an acute angle. thanks again

New South Wales Lancers were not a stand alone unit as such so probably did not have a unit sign as such

Here ya go mate. Can this help? As for getting more markings of the units try Mouse House Armour. They have a decal sheet of all Australian divisions in WW2.

This is a better pic of the NSW museum Matilda. I've noticed two things:
The vehicle is a 'CS' close support version, and I've ordered a metal 2pdr barrel with my kit!
The markings appear to be the same as the 4th Armoured Div, but in a different colour scheme!

Thanks for the help, I think I have enough now with the fraphic that Roo sent. I can make up my decals.

I realise there is a significant time passed, but I'm new & saw this comment while searching for info on Aussie Matilda colour. I am an ex-member of 1/15 Royal New South Wales Lancers (1959-1965, & must point out that during WWII the unit WAS "stand alone". The wartime unit names were initially 1st Australian Tank Battalion & later 1st Armoured Regiment.+
BTW Bison Decals has a range of decals for Aust Matildas.
