I was just wondering if anybody could tell me what the purpose of the small circular "thingy" is on the rear left corner of the M60A1 Turret is, what is is called etc.
Thanks,
Mike

I believe you are speaking about the "blower" as we called it. It is to suck the fumes from firing the gun out... we also used it when it was hot to keep it livable. Noisy as heck, but when you need it you need it.

Yes, it's the turret ventilation fan. Works like the overhead vent fan on your kitchen stove.

You can't live with out that fan as amallas it may seem when training or fighting in the dessert. MAkes you appreciate the new air "conditioning " in new tanks

Unfortunately, it is just about as effective as my kitchen blower fan.
