That looks extremely good, but the usual for you. :-) The rocks look perfect for it to be in a river bend because they are so smooth from the water passing over them. I was wondering if you were going to add a stream to it? I think a clear blue stream would give the dio an outstanding effect. I am still amazed on how awesome this looks. Great job, Great Job.

Hi T
Thanks for the response and the kind words yes there will be a water effect that will be done with resin as this is in effect set in the mountains i want t create that real fresh crystyl clear water that you see in that region sort of un touched by man as it was in those days.
I intend to dress the sides in appropreate material perhapes an effect of tree bark but each end of the stream/river will be clear so that tou will see the rock debri detail and will also give a perception of depth, i know iam crazy i break all the rules lol lol but its like anything with this great hobby be it a tank a fig building, plane its your immagination that does the work.
Crazy thing is the trapper has stated to get a bit of a personality as the dio develops..i call him Amos now ...lol lol

Hi Andy and Ian
Well the purple flowers were purchased from micheals hobby shop here in the USA they are a dried flower it was just luck that they matched perfectly with the calender pic i tend to use calender pic a lot they are great ref..plus they are bloody great photos... they are great for getting your eye in away familier with textures and col. in a sense you are painting a pic but in 3d
And yes Ian Trapper cabin fever has set in if i spend any more time on him i will be charging him rent...and bloody hell if i start talking to him iam dead in the water..lol lol lol thanks for the responses

well is nice that i see the improvement is fast . I like the fact that u try to keep ur groundwork interesting and different than the usual . Just keep a thing in mind. U need to have some precision on the kind of flowers and plants that u present for specific place, and also as Bill Horan says u need to keep a balance so that fround work do not cover the figure theme which is ur main item to present . Need to keep some subtle on the groundwork. Just some opinion, u may need to tone down a bit some colours .Usually nature do not presents very high colour contrasts, cause all kinds of life leaving in same area are usually adopting a common color filter . Nice to see u r nice work there

Comming along very nicely Tango. What type of resin will you use for the water?

Cheers Jason

Thanks all for the responses and kind words
Hi Costas with regard the plant color content and toneing,i was intending to do something portraying the end of winter that is still in my mind.
I purchased the plant cover and and other items yesterdad and really was only playing with them moving them about untill i find the corrrct balance and i agreee as you have said and as Bill Horan has indicated not to over power the subject the red foliage has been removed at present there will be tussock grass which will look very effective but to get it right is very time consuming i will no doubt change it around a hell of a lot before i get it right.
In the 2nd photo the blend semms to be coming together strange but the photo is from the very area where these guys would have lived and that is a fine interpretation of the area.
I tend to jump around regard subject matter and that why i picked this one it made me start looking at colors
away from my normal field gray olive drab and to be honest it has been a breath of fresh air.
Cheers chris

Chris i just had another good look! nd i really do think the colours are fine ! of course its a matter of personal preference
but some places on earth are very colourfull ,
especially in uncultivated areas
my garden for instance has bright red acer trees and huge yuka type plants plus birch and cheeryand generally a fusion of colour i think you scenic base replicates it well ,al;so coupled with the large expanse of the base in comparison to the figure ,serves to enforce the solitude this guy lives in .
i personally think its all in nice context and you can really see the work you have invested in this

Hi K
Thanks for the feed back ,the sense of being isolated in a awsome place is what iam trying to create in many ways the way in which the trappers blended in with the enviroment what they wore and how they lived that they were as one with all that was around them..bloody hell i feel iam going to burst into song anymoment..."..the hills are alive..lol lol :-) :-) i mean the colors that i have seen in the highlands of scotland Wales and out west in the usa begger belief,
Cheers Chris
