I Worked for Amoco for 20 years, and when I first started, "FoodShops" were called "Quick Six's.
The family I worked for was with Amoco since 1923 and owned 4 stations at one time.
When one of my customers told me that the Food Shop I managed was the last one in our area, I started taking pictures of everything, measuring the buildings and such, just because there isn't hardly anything on Amoco on the net.
Well here is the scratch built of the Amoco Food Shop I managed, it was tore down back in August and is now a BP/Amoco, so anyone wanting pics of the Amoco or drawings with measurements let me know.

Very interesting idea. Might be useful if someone were to build a "Red Dawn" dio after the Russians invade the US.

What scale is hotwheel?

Welcome to Armorama Vartha. That is a neat diorama you have there. Different and nice. I have often thought about scratch-building a portion of the foundry I work in, probably for a Stalingrad diorama.

Again,
Welcome aboard.

Well first off thanks everyone for the welcome.
A friend of mine, Cuhail Rails, is who told me about these boards.
The scale is N-scale, we plan on applying the Amoco to his N-scale train setup which will be like an post disaster type deal. Altho the drawings I did of the Amoco can be applied to any scale because the measurements are of the real Amoco.
We wanted to stick to what we knew so I am helping out, it is slow going tho.
We even want to make train cars to look like moblie homes or RV camper trailers.
I started a complex that will be at the top of a mountain, but so far All I have is the Styrofoam base structure which needs to be hollowed out for lighting and such. It will be cool
Someone did suggest to me to build a HotWheel size too fo my son lol

Nice! And I'm not just saying that because it will wind up on my layout! :-) He (Vartha) commandeered my workbench for a week to do this dio and it came out great. I've drunk more cups of coffee at this very station than my bladder cares to remember.
Brad, welcome to Armorama. These are the best modelers in the world, around the world! Listen to their advice and don't be afraid to show your work!
