Hi all,
If anyone wants to build a big 1/6 scale Tiger 1
I thought I would share some pics and info on
the Field Of Armor "Big Tig".
I have really enjoyed working on this one. Although
it is by far no Armortek Tiger, It is a very tough, sturdy
tank kit. The FOA R/C option, however does not include any sounds, or speed control. So instead
I installed the Tamiya DMD and Multifunction units
with a RCA box speaker. Now I have the precise speed control and sounds!
The tank weighs in at about 65- 70lbs. I have replaced
all four fenders with hand made 16 gauge steel ones.
The skirts and muffler covers are metal too.
Zimmerit was applied with automotive Bondo - never
do that gain!
Here are a few pics of the progress, getting close to completion!
And yes, that is a Tamiya 1/16 Tiger I am building in the background.
If I may be so bold, come by and check out my new website devoted soley to R/C Tanks:

Hello Radar,
Nice work there. I am in the process of finishing my 1/16 Pershing and am about to Start my Tiger. I have the photo etch for it and was waiting until I could get my hands on a resistance welder for the finer details. Nice job with the zimmerit. I was thinking about doing that.

Andy, I too have the Aber photo etch kit. After making
so many hand made parts for a 1/6 scale tank the
Aber set looks so tiny! And a little overwhelming.
I doubt I will use all that stuff in there!

Davy,
Yes I plan on posting a few movie clips of it when it
is done, and before I sell it.
I will post it on my site soon:
