Have you tried Poly-S paint remover? Its supposed to work on most paints. I think Gunze Sangyo has a paint remover in their line also.

I use oven cleaner when stripping enamels and it works great for me. After spraying the cleaner on the model, I leave it soak for couple of hours, even days... It never hurt the resin. In that time the paint should be peeling off with no problems at all.

For acrylics, I use a product that is a little more environmentally friendly... an orange peel oil called "Goo BeGone"... can be found at most hardware shopes. Spray it one, wait 320 minutes, then peel it off or scrape it with a tooth brush. Also excellent for dropped paint, or cleaning dried paint off of your easel or paint trays!
