Who is actively making T-90 conversion kits? I've seen AEF's that utlises Tamiya's T-72. Is anyone aware of a T-90 conversion that uses Dragon's T-72 kit? That's a more reasonably priced T-72 saying nothing about accuracy...

Terre models and AEF Designs are it for now. Both have problems and neither build up into a "true" T-90, although they do come close. Both are intended for the Tamiya T-72, which is also technically a problem since the Tamiya T-72 comes with that front glacis mounted armour plate, and this should not be on the T-90 as it has a different bolt-on plate. Sigh.

However, Zvezda has promised a T-90 kit in plastic sometime. However, nothing so far has come of it.

Kirin did a resin T-90 conversion for the DML T-72. I bought one from my local hobby shop when they had a 30% off sale (was originally $40). It was old stock and is long out of production.

Yes, I've searched around for Kirin's conversion and haven't had any luck. Though with it OOP, I'msure it would fetch a hefty price and therefore is a bit out of my league.

Here's a feasability question, would either AEF or Terra conversion work on a DML T-72? Though having said that, hobbyeasy has Tamiya's T-72 for $20.51. That's pretty cheap.

Hi Woodstock,
I built the Terres Modeles conversion on the DML basis and it fitted well.
It has many flaws but with good drawings or pics you can have a good rendition in the end with the help of your skills

The instructions leaflet is an awful blackened xerography from which you have to guess the parts location.

Here is a pic

Please don't pay too much attention to the ERA roof tiles for which I was totally of topic due to a lack of info. It is my intend to rebuild it when time is available !

Yes, the Terre and AEF Designs kits are supposedly based off of the Kirin kit, and I used a DML T-72M2 to make my T-72BM...what the Kirin T-90 kit really builds into.
