Hi all,
I intend to paint my M1A1 in OIF in the classic sand color.
I will use as a base color Tamiya XF59 or 60, don't know exactly which one at this time. Then I want to apply their sand Spray paint in the TS range.
Will the TS properly adhere to the XF range paints, will I get trouble if using different types of paints ?
TIA

Ciao bison126,
Sorry if I sound dumb, but are they both acrylic paints. If they are, you shouldn't have a problem.
Ciao for now

Good call Rob, they are both acrylic. The TS just stands for "Tamiya Spray" Even if they were different based paints, (acrylic and enamel for instance) you would have no problem combining the two with successive coats as long as the first one is cured.

TS is not Acrylic paint Im afraid it's a synthetic Laquer based paint You should have no problems spraying over the acrylics though. Just remember to seal the Laquer paint properly before doing any washes with oil paint etc. HTH

Thank you all for your quick answers and advices.
I usually spray semi-glossy varnish before applying decals then flat one before finishing the weathering of my kits.

Thanks again

Mate

It might be best to try it out on some scrap first.

I got caught this way a couple of years ago with an aircraft I had painted withTamiya acrylics - the paint had cured for abour a week when I went to clear coat prior to decalling. I just grabbed a can of Tamiya clear that I had used for something else - too lazy to get out the airbrush and floor polish :-) .

One nice coat of spray later I had a totally wrecked paint job - then I read the fine print on the can and it said lacquer.

so even after curing it stuffed the acrylic paint job.

Never again..

Thanks Brian,
I'll probably have to varnish the base color before applying the spray.
Anyway, I'll try on some plastic parts beforehand.
