Hi all,
I'm wondering if the trigger block with the handles at the back of the .50cal MG is mounted on the M1A1 Abrams.
Obviously, Tamiya kit comes with an electrical trigger. I haven't seen good pics of the TC station with the MG mounted up to now.
Has anybody there any info ?
TIA

AFAIK the M1A2 is the only one with the .50 and the handles...

Thank you both.
Really nice pics Frenchy, as I'm building USMC M1, they perfectly meet my requirements.

If I'm reading this correctly (up early in the 'morning' and needing coffee), and if I am not mistaken, then yes, only the M1A2s' cal .50 has the 'traditional' trigger handles, just like most pintle-mounted HMGs found on AFVs worldwide.
The M1/M1A1 series has a CWS that has a powered azimuth - but had a manual crank for elevation. The A2s cal .50 were just manually trained.
That aside, I noticed something on the M1A2 image provided by Jurgen - The driver's hatck has a 'lip' around it like Tamiya's and Academy's M1kits. Am I seeing things?
Way to go, bison126. I'm also bulding a USMC M1A1.

If you are refering to the lip that attaches the mount and the TC hatch, then yes, there is a lip. I am pretty such Italeri includes the lip too.

I'm sorry, but I was pertaining to the lip surrounding the driver's hatch.

That 'lip' you are seeing is actually on the hatch itself. Later M1A1's and A2's have this reinforcing lip on both the driver's hatch and loader's hatch. I've looked at a lot of photos, and have never seen the lip around the hatch like Tamiya/Academy have molded around their kits. Must have been a mis-interpretation of the non-skid texture around the hatch.

Thank you for your different inputs.
Just one more question, is one of you aware of where does the power cable of the MCD originate ? It is seen on one pic posted by Frenchy above but only one end is clearly visible.
