Yooo Friends

Finally a new update from my side. I was a bit delayed due to my school exams. But I have passed them succesfully. ( oke, not topic related but I just wanted to tell:P)

I have tried to make some improvements to my photograpy-skills because I was not satisfied with the photo's I took lately. So I hope they are more oke now. The first picture represents the real colours the best, the other pics are less good.

This is the overall setting of the SU-85

I need to paint to exhaust outlets black, and then probably a small layer of MIG-pigments. And I need to wash the tracks a bit more because they're now quite monotone. Then I will give them a black/silver drybrush.

The dio base is not finished yet. I want to make some flowers and as you can see in the bush in front of the tank are small rocks, but I need to paint them red to represent apples or something like that. lol

this iwas my first stencilit experience but I have some small overspray. Anyone an idea how to fix this?

I tried to make some paintchips,..are they oke?

Thanks for watching, comments and tips are highly appreciated.

Groetjes Jurjen

Your numbers look great ..I think just a few filters will give you the look you are after ...The over spray was probably very common in real life too ,so don't worry about it too much.

Jurjen,
I think your SU-85 looks very good and think your base is good too. What did you use for the shrubs?

That's a very beatiful build. I like the weathering and I also like the chipped paint effect on the numbers.

Your groundwork looks amazing. What did you use? I'm not sure but did you use parsley?

Thank you.

J,

I like this a lot! Any AM stuff. What is the tree stump made of? and did you use the kit side handles or replace them with wire?

Hi Angela, thanks for your comments. You are right about the parsley. The great advantage of parsley is that your dio smells very fine :-) First I have sprinkled the parsley and then I sprayed them green.

Hi Puma,

I don't like vinyl tracks so I have replaced them with a set of MK. I also added a Eduard Barrel. The handles were replaced by wire. In my opinion the most easy and best additions you can make, they often look more realistic and it is very cheap to add.

The tree stump has been cast by Crossbow during KMK scaleworld. So I thought it would be look nice to add.

Anyone an idea to fill the right fender under the fuel drums? I'm out of inspiration.

Thanks for reading and for your comments

Jurgen, again, great work on your SU-85. I really like the groundwork too.

They way you have taken the pics, and the way you have positioned the roadwheels and tracks, give the impression the vehicle is moving.

Outstanding !

Greetz !!

Jurjen, I think you have an excellent tank and base going here. I agree with Rick that the overspray on the numbers would have been quite common and that you should leave them they are excellent. Also as he says a couple filters maybe with reddish brown would be great on this. The chipping is also excellent. Cant wait to see some apples. Cheers Kevin

Haha, I didn't knew...thanks . I have used Filigrane Trees for the bushes.

I took some new pictures. The tank is now almost done but I have to do some minor detail thingies, like the headlight i.e.

Thanks

Jurjen Looks great! The MK tracks really add to the kit. this is Tamiyas 85 right?

I think if you added a few riders it would be just the thing to set off your wonderful work.

I'm a noob when it comes to figures as well, but you never improve unless you try!

Nothing ventured nothing gained.

HI Jurjen,
Love your work! But regarding the figures, I agree with the other posters, you could allways try. Just put the ones on top that you think were properly done... You don't have to put a whole batallion on the back right? One or two figures should look good aswell!!

See ya on the dutch forum

Thomas

PS: I seem to recall you promised us flowers?? WHERE ARE THEY :-) ???!!!! I've been looking forward to those flowers.... :'(
