Hi all, here is my Ferdinand at the end of construction. It will represent a vehicle from the 653 Schwere Panzerjager Abteilung, been towed by an early Bergepanther D.

It looks great! Well done! Is this the Italeri kit? I presume they are Fruil tracks? Where is the PE and barrel from?

Nice looking Jagdpanzer Ferdinand, Andy ! Those fenders and gun barrel look awesome, are they Aber ? You did a real nice job on them.
Overall construction looks fantastic. Keep sending us pics !
Can't wait to see how you make out with this and the early Bergepanther Ausf D

Loooks good sofar Andy, one question, do you leave the tracks on when you paint the body and wheels or do you do them separate?
Cheers

I admire how clean the whole build is. Great work on the PE and tracks. The kit itself must have been nice to build, as it doesnt seem to be covered in filler. Whos kit is this? I love the added tool box. Little details like this always stand out and make your kit memorable. Looking forward to a nice paint job again as there nothing to nit-pick here, IMO. Nice one.

, hey guys thanks for the wonderful encouraging words, much appreciated. Vinnie the fenders and barrel are from Aber, and a bit of etch from Eduard, and scratch tool box. Henk the tracks and wheels are just temp for the pic[held on with Blu-tac], i always paint these off the vehicle[ if i have used aftermarket tracks etc]. Here is a pic of the tractor that was used to pull these beasts from the battlefield!!. This was built a while ago, as this project has been ongoing for a while!!. It was converted from the old Italeri Panther A kit!!

Hey Andy,
Your work with these kits is fantastic! I do have a small question though. Ferdinands were updated to Elefants after Kursk, and 653 used them in Italy in that shape (most noticeable was probably the bow MG). In other words, would a Ferdinand and a Bergepanther exist in the same place at the same time?
Thanks,
Mika

Hi Andy, I to am wondering what theatre you plan on putting these 2 lovely beasts in.
Also are you planning on putting the dreaded zimmerit on that big Firdinand.

, thanks guys for your nice words of encouragement. Yes the Ferdinands were towed by these early Bergepanthers in the 653. No zimmerit was applied to the Ferdinands, but to the Elefants. Thanks again for looking and commenting.
