i have seen those hot wire polystyreen cuters in hobby stores but they are always a bit to small! does anyone know how to make one. i have access to electrical components like resistors or capacitors if they are needed. i am planing a waterside dio but my previous attempts on river banks didn't look convincing

Hi Dan
Iam in the process of completing a dio with water and river banks,i used some panels from asuspended cieling ists like compressed paper cut real easy with a stanley knife and then i used plaster of paris ror the bank and and top i put it on quite roughly and it gave i feel i good bank effect, if you go back a couple of posts in the dio section look for mountain man there should be some images that might give you some help ,the dio ids quite big as the fig is 200m.
Hope this helps Chris Tango 20

You can always try something like this.
Build up height with styroform, rough shape, cover with spackle or plaster., then ground cover. For where the water is to be make sure you seal the base well as it will find any hole in the styroform and flow through.

I think it makes a fairly convicing hill ?
