Hello

I have recently bought some Linka moulds, and now I am working on my first little house, I imagine it will be a French village house:

Only half of the roof is shown. The wall at the bottom is not yet glued together, to show the principle behind the construction. The black figure is in 1:72 scale.

My very first attempt to build anything with the Linka system was this garden wall:

Here the seams between the pieces are pretty obvious, but I think with more more experience, it is possible to conceal them almost totally.

More pictures will follow as construction continues...

Ciao Occam,
The house is really going to look nice. I like the wall, but the seams really do detract. It's probably going to be tough to hide all those seams in the house. The paint job is really great, especially for being in such a small scale. I look forward to seeing the end result.
Ciao for now
Rob

Benjamin, according to the info I've found (actually on the site you posted the link to), it was recommended to fill the seams with a weaker mix of plaster and then remove any excess with a stiff brush, i.e. an old tooth brush.

Hey nice job Occam!

Before I rush out and buy some, where did you get them? A store in DK or from their site? And what kind of plaster do you use?

regards,
Steen

Looking very interesting Benjamin. If you can conceal the seams of that small village house, it will most certainly be a beauty.

Even though the seams, on the garden wall, are quite distinct, the paintjob is beautiful.

Thanks for your comments

TheMadMax: I'll include it when I take the next photos of the house.

ukgeoff: Good idea, I'll try that.

json: I bought them from the US site, delivery is only $5 and it takes 3-4 days for them to arrive. I've tried with cheap plaster from Panduro Hobby, and it works fine, although the pieces are rather fragile. Then I bought some higher quality plaster called Keramin-S from a hobby shop in Helsingør, which costed 50 kr. for 1 kg. It works really well, and makes the pieces very solid. The thing to look after is the surface hardness, which for ordinary plaster is about 60 N/mm2, and for high quality plaster is 300 N/mm2.

Name_1s_MUD: No, they only make them in more or less 1/72 scale. You could take a look at the Hirstart moulds, although they are somewhat different.

Today I assembled the walls and the two halves of the roof. Then I assembled the walls on a base. The roof and the cimney are not glued on yet.

Notice the difference in colour of the two pictures taken immedialely after each other, one is without flash, and the other with flash.

More pictures will follow as construction continues...
