I like this dio! Although I don't think the subject is very original, it's very well excecuted! The dio looks great, nice details etc.

that gave me the idea! Hope this works.

I think it's very well executed. Personally the addition of a Volksturm figure or a couple of civilians would improve it a lot. The ruins are excellent as is the building facade.

Jim, I think the translation from Dutch to English of Martin's sentiment is not 100% . Came across that all the time in my previous job..

I think he might mean that the diorama is not 'original' as in a one of, home made diorama. I think he refers to the kit, containing a cobblestone base and Panther turret, by a firm who's name escapes me ( well I'm not sure who it is.. ). That kit is based on a photograph of such a turret, in Berlin, where they were put in the ground as a last stand static defense. But then you will know that of course. .
I must stress that I do not want to insinuate that that's what Russ used, I have seen to many of his dio's, which are definitly original, to doubt his skills or ability to create an original one off.

Guys,if you mean is the dio one whole kit,no,I`m afraid not! The roadsection comes from Great Northern Roads in England,the building fassad is a homemade
cast from the original building(name not known) and the Panther turret is from a Tamiya kit. Everything else is homemade.

I thought it was a pretty original idea.... a scene that you don't see very often in a diorama.

I've seen Panther turms already in several other dio's. So in my opinion, the idea, the subject, the panther turm, is not something new. Not that this makes the diorama a bad diorama, not at all. As I said, I like it very much.

In Dutch we say "het is niet echt een origineel onderwerp". So to all Dutch people: origineel is in dit geval toch te vertalen met original? Volgens m'n Engels w-boek wel namelijk.

So Russ, don't think I don't like your diorama! I've just seen more of these panther turms on a small dio....I'd like to see one in action once, on a larger dio! (maybe this is an idea hehe)

Ineresting war machine... those germans didn't let anything go to waste. i think figures would help ad a bit of interest to the piece,... perhaps just my personal preference, but this is still well-done.

thanks for clearing that up. Original was the proper word to use.

I for one had never seen a diorama in this setting before, while you had... I think that caused the questions on my side.

Thanks guys,I agonized over wether to add figures or not,not won, but I figured if I put some gear and stowage about this would represnt being still in use.
There are figures there,they`re just inside the box,lol!

Another cool little piece Russ, sometimes it's a nice change to do something that doesn't have figures in it, not like me, who has to cram as much figures into a scene as humanly possible! :-)
