Ola People

Well I did some more on this little vehicle. I weathered the lower hull by giving it numerous washes and filters again. And I practiced a new technique of which I really wasn`t sure how it would turn out. If it turned out wrong I had to conquer a pretty big problem as it would be hard to get away the paintlayer with the grass. Well the effect I tried to recreate was the type of Dirt with grass dried to the side of the vehicle between the roadwheels. I also did the tracks of one side of the vehicle as you can see. The whole other side is not yet weathered. I would like to hear what you guys and gals think of the dried mud and grass.

Every feedback is of course welcome. As you see the fibers of the grass are still differently coloured. A good brushing with Pigments will tie that together wonderfully.

Looks good so far Robert, I think you could add some more grass to the hull.

Those are beautiful close-ups Robert! The mud you have made is very realistic but I would try to add some more mud to the running gear and the tracks. Your Kl.PzBef.W. is coming along very nicely

Ola Guys

Thanks for the fast replies.

Henk
I could indeed add some more grass and.... that is still easily done

Jurjen
Thanks for the Compliments on the Photography... Since my dad has his new cam I`m able to make some decent pics again. About the mud on the running gear and tracks... I have this weird way of weathering and I work from the Inside out so first the Hull then adding the tracks and weather running gear and Tracks after that. The Tracks and running gear get their own treatment just a bit later

David
Thanks about the compliments well check out the reply on Jurjen the answer is there

Amazing work, i like it, others have already said it, more grass (and if you ask me, more mud too) on the side of the hull and surely on the tracks too

I think this little one will be a winner.

Great photos!
The technique is super. The powders will help the grass on the hull. I think there is a smidge to much grass on the hull. The poweder will help tone it down.

I agree with the previous post about mud/dirt/grass on the tracks, you could use some there.

Ola Guys

Rob
Thanks for the compliment. On the next installment I will show the weathering of the Running gear and the tracks... They get a good mudbath too :-)

Mirko
Also thanks for the compliments. More mud as stated above will be added in the next steps.

Hilbert
At the moment I took the pics I just started working on the Sprocket... That thing will be more used when I am finished with it. Same goes for the tracks.

Scott..
I don`t support your Smidge too much theory Not in a bad way but having seen what these things churn up on the ground and what they throw around it is almost like a good tractor coming off a field with the Dirt everywhere. It looks quite similar to this. Also the Wheel well of the Tractors are fairly big and the chunks of dirt and grass is hanging everywhere. With the powdercoat on it everything becomes a bit more dusty and the grass won`t be that much visible again but that is in the following steps.
About the tracks and Running gear see above answers

One comment though, the tracks are suspending above the return rollers

Rob I like that. When you first told me about it I had my doubts but they were misplaced.

It would be easy to add more to make it thick or thin depending on what effect you are after.

A good technique sir thanks for sharing.

cheers

Ola Cliff

Well the fun thing is that when I talked to you about this I had serious doubts too if it would be a success... Once again the sweet gods of modelling were standing behind me.
You are very right it is still easy to add more to it. Also this will be in an article about my way of weathering.
Thanks for the comments

Ola Guys

Thanks for the kind words

Costas and Engin
Still the end is not near... I Will add more stuff and the pigments come in the end to tie everything together.

Rob
The article will be written on the other panzerbefehlswagen from Master Box I have lying around here. It will take a few weeks but the other tank is almost built. After that a paint job... The article will be only about my weathering techniques.
