After lots of work, my vehicle from 785th MP Battalion, HQ-6 is just about done. I'll probably secure the top, since I'm not sure I like the gaps when it's sitting loose, so I'm taking the inside shots now before they get buried.

Thanks. I used the outside wrapping from a guitar string, which someone here suggested. Depending how you remove it, you can either keep it coiled (for the microphone) or straighten it out for the antenna wires.
I'm doing the wash and weathering now and should finish up tomorrow.

Now that is why I bought all my Humvees because of the insipiring job you did. I can't wait to see it all done and weathered.
I am speechless it's so good.
Happy Modeling

PS; I might have some questions on how you did your super-super detailing.

Just let me know.
One factor is that I have pretty much been doing not much else since mid-Nov when I started this one! :-)

First off, outstanding. It sures look real close to the real one.
Question for you about the detail. Which is photo etch and scratch built, or did it all come with the kit? If you used any phot etch sets, which ones? I've been thinking of building the asme kit and just figuring the cost for any extra.
Thanks

Stunning interior job..... You can hear those amobox straps rattle, and the wiring and the dash, speechless is the word.
With those window stickers the question must be asked, is the commander from Essex (U.K.) ? :-) :-) :-) .
excellent
Cheers
Henk

It's quite a hybrid. Some of the pieces are from the Eduard set (I used about 50 % of the pieces in that PE), but most of the PE and resin is the Verlinden. In fact, I had used a few pieces from the identical Verlinden set on a previous build and had a "spare", which came in handy as a few of the "fiddly bits" needed an "extra"
The Verlinden kit has really got a lot of stuff and was really worth the money. I also used the CMK resin engine (I'll do some photos of that later), which is very nice. The biggest problem is that if you want to be able to close the hood over it, there's a ton of work to do. My hood STILL doesn't close all the way, but I'll live with it.
By the time you add it all up, there's WAY more in after market stuff than the cost of the kit. And there is a lot of scratch build with respect to doors, windows, liftgate, hood, brush guard, and the gunner's hatch.
Which explains why I've been living in the basement since the middle of November! :-)
But it WAS my vehicle, so none of that really mattered.
I'm probably going to finish it tonight and I'll post some more in a day or so.

Probably! But not since about the 1630s! I'm descended from a William who came to Virginia at that time, so I suspect I have a few cousins in Essex. I'd sure love to find out!

Makes me feel like I'm looking at a real Hummer. And I should know, I've spent ALOT of time in HMMVW's.
