Hello All,
this is a ruin that I made for a Spanish company that make accesories for dioramas, among other things.
the original is made with plastic for reproduce wood parts and plaster .

Hi Kevin,
I work the plastic first sanding with a sandpaper with great grain. After with the end of a cutter blade I pass it along all plastic surface. These cutter blade end must incide over plastic surface 30 degrees. If you varies this incidence ( 60grades for sample) you can obtain a "wood" more textured. I hope that soon I will made some photos for explain better this process
