hey,
I wanted to know if anyone has experience with clear coating their models with Humbrol's gloss and flat coats over Tamiya acrylics?
how does the Humbrol flat clear affects oil washes and how should it be mixed in order to avoid whitening of the finish? is there a preference toward airbrushing it as opposed to applying directly with a brush?
thanks in advance.
Elad.

Hey Elad,
I don't think it would cause any problems, but try experimenting on an old model or a piece of plastic card beforehand
Might be easier to apply with an Airbrush... Goes one more smoothly (But experiment before you try it on your model)

I use Humbrol gloss and matt clear and have never had a problem with them over acrylic washes.
I thin 2 parts varnish 1 part thinner and AB it in thin coats.
hope this helps

Elad, I use Humbrol matt cote, over Tamiya acrylics. No problem. I don't thin the Humbrol either. No problem. What I have had a problem with is Humbrol Matt cote over Tamiya 'smoke'. It will NOT finish flat, no matter how many coats I give it.
