There has been some discussion over on ML from some who received the new Dragon 2005 catalog. Five, count them, five Shermies! Some may be re-releases and 2 may be the same plastic kit with some small mods to make different versions.

Cool beans. I hope these all come down the pike. Now, if you're listening DML, how about a true EARLY Sherman, one with direct vision ports? Or the holly grail of all allied modelers, an updated HALFTRACK? I swear, as God is my witness, that if you come up with those two items I'll buy two of each and hang what SWMBO has to say about it.

Hi, Even though I seem to be addicted to the 'dark side' of this hobby, I do hope that these new Shermans will be up to the quailty of their recently released German stuff. If so, they will be real winners in their own right.

Take care, Sgirty

Not only 5 Shermans in 1/35 but in the Missing Links Brail Scale forum they list a M4A3 76mm and M4A3E2 Jumbo in 1/72.

Looking at that list I guess that most of these are re-issues - hope that Firefly 1 has been updated though. Nothing really new, but I look forward to seeing these available in the shops again.
Perhaps they'll go the M4A2 route and put them out with metal barrels and vinyl tracks (or include them as a choice!).

Dave- what is/are the problem with the firefly? I'm looking forward to it anyway, as I had planned to bash one together. Saved by the bell, perhaps!

That is good news - very good news indeed. However, I will temper that by saying that several Shermans were listed for release in 2004 and apart from the M4a2, not a lot happened...

The Firefly 1c (if it's been reworked) will definitely be a high-priority buy for me...Jim

I like the look of all the kits and would love to have them all. First priority would be the M4A3E8

Yes, where are the EARLY Shermans? How about some DV M4s and M4A2s (and A4s for that matter), just to prove a Sherman doesn't have to be OD?

Dragon came through with a couple of excellent early T-34s, time to carry on the good work.

IIRC correctly the cast texture of the Sherman Hybrid was a little over-enthusiastically applied. The nose which appeared in the 2nd issue Firefly (think it originated from the hybrid) looked like it had been pebble-dashed.

I've been hearing about them supposed to come, what I would like to see is them here, they had us watering at the mouth long enough.

Even if they only get 2 or 3 on the list actually to the shelves in 2005 would be great. I too would like to see more Sherman variants but just getting them to re-release some Allied stuff (not just Shermans) is a victory for the good guys! If it weren't for these re-releases from DML, Tamiya and Italeri M4A1(76) we'd hardly have any Shermies.

Yeah, I gotta say, give me a good, and I mean just good not necessarily exquisite, M3 or M2 halftrack and I'll be up to my armpits in them by the end of the first week they hit the shelves.

Troop carriers, LAD/Fitter's vehicles, Arty OP vehicles, Ambulances, you name it! There will be dozens to be built (or at least bought in anticipation of building before I croak...).

I thoroughly agree that new US halftracks would be a god send. I personaly would like to see an M15A1 or one of the howitzer armed versions. A Grant or Lee would be cool too IMHO.
